This is Susmita, a resilient young woman who was rescued as a child and raised in our Nepal orphan home.
At just 7 years old, Susmita was brought to our home from a remote mountain village in Nepal. Our now-retired director, Bimal, learned of her situation through a pastor friend and personally carried her on his back for miles over rugged terrain to reach the nearest bus route back to Kathmandu.
She came from extreme poverty. Her father had passed away young, leaving behind a large family struggling for even two meals a day. As the only daughter among many brothers, life was incredibly hard, with little food, no security, and ongoing challenges.
But thanks to the safe, loving environment at our orphan home— made possible by supporters like you— Susmita was cared for, educated, and nurtured for years. She flourished there, surrounded by hope and family in Christ.
After graduating from the program, she faced some tough struggles, including family rejection and pressure over her faith.
Yet, with renewed support from our scholarship fund, Susmita, now 21, has just enrolled at a prestigious university in Kathmandu, pursuing her dream degree in Hotel Management!
Our team was moved to tears during a recent video call with her. Her English is perfect thanks to the education you helped provide for her. She's full of hope, courage, and gratitude as she steps into this exciting new chapter.

Hi, I'm Susmita. Life was very difficult before coming to the orphan home. I barely remember my early years, but there was so much hardship and not enough to eat. At the home, I felt loved and safe for the first time. I got an education and learned about God's love for me.
Now, thanks to the scholarship, I'm studying Hotel Management in Kathmandu. It's my dream to work in hospitality and build a bright future. Your support has given me this chance when things felt impossible. Thank you from my heart. You're changing my life and giving me real hope.
