All the bills have been paid and the final pledges from our 6th Annual "Taste of Hope" Gala have been collected so we are very happy to report the impact of our event!
Thanks to your support, whether it was attending, underwriting, bidding on auction items, or just helping us spread word of the event, we were able to raise a NET total of $67,822.
This represents 8.2% of our annual budget raised in one night. We obviously could not feel more grateful for, and encouraged by, this generosity.
These proceeds will allow us to continue and improve the important work in our four-pronged response to the human trafficking crisis: prevention, rescue, rehabilitation, and restoration. We give thanks to God for such divine providence!
We had a record number of silent auction items donated resulting in our highest-grossing silent auction in the event's 6-year history. The list of thank you's if we were to include them here would be pages long.
We are so thankful to everyone involved, but especially our honored guests Chef Domenica Catelli, Chef David Ramos, and Advanced Sommelier Lindsay Thomas who all went beyond the call of duty to ensure that our guests had a wonderful experience.
In other big news, we would like to share with you that we will have some significant changes coming up in the way that we communicate with you.
We have recently had the immense blessing of receiving two new part-time staff members onto our team, making for a total of five Houston-based staff serving our administrative and program-related needs around the world.
This has provided Kelly McGee, our Development Coordinator, with much-needed relief from her long list of duties.
Thus Kelly will now be able to help us deliver more program updates and testimonials from our beneficiaries to your inbox!
